The organizers of Mesamerica, the inaugural congress headed by Mexican chef Enrique Olvera, have confirmed the lineup for the event. In addition to including pretty much every major chef from Mexico (Jair Tellez, Daniel Ovadia, Alejandro Ruiz, Benito Molina among them), there is a lineup of foreign presenters. That lineup now includes Alex Stupak, Daniel Patterson, Carlo Mirarchi of Roberta's, Brooks Headley of Del Posto (with the band No Age), Christopher Kostow, Rick Bayless, Noma pastry chef Rosio Sanchez, Albert Adrià, The Young Turks, and Yoshi Takazawa of Tokyo's Aronia de Takazawa. The event will be held in Mexico City's Auditorio Blackberry from July 25 to 28.
According to Olvera, who is the chef at Pujol (ranked #36 on the World's 50 Best List), "the objective of Mesamerica is to promote Mexican cuisine as well as to raise the quality, education, and professional standards in the country." Tickets are now available to the public through Ticketmaster. Expect several additions to the lineup in the coming days.
